So after another long break, I’ve decided to go back to school again. After high school, I wasn’t the type of kid who could jump right into college. I tried going to college after high school, and failed miserably. It just wasn’t the right time for me. After all, I had to go to work and earn some money. My parents weren’t the type that pushed their kids to go to college, rather it was all about working and making money.
I went back to college in 2004, for my second go-around at it. It was the right time, my grades went from “F’s”, to all “A’s” and “B’s.” I felt confident again with good grades and encouragement from the people that surrounded me. Then I got a new job in 2005, and took another break to learn my job.
It’s now 2008, and the confidence and motivation have returned. My original major was Business, but I found after taking a few business courses, it didn’t interest me much. Rather, I found that I liked to write and read. My major is now English. In 2005, I challenged the English 100 – Composition course at Skyline ( I was placed in the lower level English class on my preplacement test I took in 1996.) I successfully passed the challenge test and was granted access to register in English 100. What a great feeling!
I’m now finally enrolled in the “English 100 Composition” class for the summer session, and I’m very excited to be back in school.

The teacher is brand new, which means he is very strict; i.e. only 10 minute breaks, and by no means does he let us leave earlier than 9:45pm. Grrrrr…..guess I have to toughen up.
