Today Stripes celebrated her 7th Birthday and her one year anniversary at the house with us. By all accounts, she is now considered 44-years old in human years. We did what we traditionally do for our cat’s birthday: lots of toys, attention, treats, and food and for Stripes Bui, it was no different. We showered her with lots of new play toys and I got her a little comfortable sleeping pad that her brother, Panther Bui, seems to be using a lot more than she is. Andrea got her some organic grass to eat and enjoy and I picked her up some sake (salmon) sashimi from a local Sushi house since none of the three Sushi houses I visited had any toro (fatty tuna).
So another year passes for her and as we watch her, she still retains most of her kitten attributes that makes her so cute such as when she kneads the blanket before laying down, the cute “croissant” position she sleeps in, and how she attacks her scratching post like only how she can. With Panther around, she stays fairly active, which is important, especially as she grows older.
