Richard and I adopted a beautiful 5 month old black male kitten. We named him Panther because he is all black. I’ve always been fascinated with black cats, and I’ve been looking for one for quite a while. The problem was, it was very difficult to find an ALL BLACK kitten. We went to the Peninsula Humane Society in San Mateo last night, and when I saw this cute little black kitten, I knew he was the one. After about a 20 minute wait, we got to spend some time with him in a private room to get acquainted with the little guy. He was very hyper and playful, kicking a little ball around, but then when we got a piece of string, he seemed to love that. We spent about 20 minutes with him, and the staff came back, and we said we’ll take him. An hour later, he arrived at his new home to meet his new older sister, Stripes, our cute little 6 year old grey tabby cat.
Stripes didn’t take an immediate liking to Panther, but he didn’t seem to mind. For now, we’ll keep them separate when not at home and give them some supervised time together daily. We’re confident Stripes will eventually fall in love with Panther as we have.
