10 WEEKS left!

by Andrea Bui - Posted Under: Wedding

Time seems like it’s just disappearing on us. There is only 10 more weeks until the BIG DAY! Here’s what we are working on for the next two weeks:

  • Book a baker for wedding cake
  • Purchase Richard’s wedding ring
  • Finalize service details with restaurant manager
  • Book hotel room for previous night (October 5)
  • Choose the rest of my bridal accessories
  • Buy the ALCOHOL!! :)
  • Send both my and Richard’s wedding bands to be engraved
  • Richard needs to get rental shoes for all the guys

That’s what we’re working on in the next few weeks; we expect to have at least half of those items done today, as we’re going to the South Bay.

Things Remembered - Tanforan San Bruno SUCKS!

by Andrea Bui - Posted Under: Wedding

So I went to have our cake cutting set, champagne toasting flutes, and guest book engraved. They decided that I would like another type of font better than what I chose for the flutes, they put a period in the date on the knife, and well yeah…..so much for that set. So I got my refund for the engraving cost…but then, the manager said I had to show my receipt for the set that I purchased at Macys. Hmmmmmm…….does she really think that I carry all my wedding receipts on me. I had to dig through all my receipts at home. This really sucks, because I bought this Lenox set from Macys on sale, and now they don’t even have the cake cutting set anymore.

Upon my return to Things Remembered, I showed my receipt and she then informed me that I would not be able to get a refund on the TAX that I payed. At this point, I don’t even care anymore, I just want to be out of there. I’ve already had enough wedding stress to last me a lifetime. I just had a major episode of a migraine on Saturday which I ended up in the Emergency Room…..and I knew if I let her get to me, I would have a relapse and the migraine would return.

The manager even tried to offer me another set from their store, and of course I refused. I told her if I did not get an entire refund, I would be contacting my credit card company to dispute these unauthorized charges AND their corporate office to make a complaint.

Now we have to add ANOTHER thing to our “to do” list. We have to look for another set. :(

We Took Our Engagement Pics

by Richard Bui - Posted Under: Wedding

Our friend, Jason Ferguson, was kind enough to be our photographer for our engagement pics. We took over 400 shots and I think there are some very usable ones. Unfortunately my eyes were closed in many of the shots (blame it on being bright outside and being asian).

At the moment, we’re still not sure if we are going to post any of them or leave it as a surprise.

Invitations Are Out!

by Richard Bui - Posted Under: Wedding

Ninety nine percent of the wedding invitations have been sent out! Months of hard and intense work on designing and preparing has now paid off. Andrea and I both excited that the invitations are sent out, a bit anxious to see what everyone thinks of them, and a bit more relieved that another major phase of the wedding is complete. Almost every part of the invitation was custom designed by us, so we would love to hear what everyone thinks of them.

3 months to go!

by Andrea Bui - Posted Under: Wedding

It’s amazing how time is flying by. We are in the middle of wedding season right now, with the most popular wedding day of the year is of course tomorrow, 7/7/07. It’s supposed to be a good luck day with all the lucky 7’s. But then again, my good luck began when I met Richard. He has been the best thing that ever happened to me. Our lucky year is 2007.

So we have 3 more months and have all the major things completed. We will be hand delivering invitations today to most family members, and mailing the rest.

What are we still working on?

  • Take Engagement Picture
  • Find a baker for wedding cake
  • Richard’s wedding ring
  • Hair and Makeup person
  • Finalize music list with DJ

I think that covers most of it. It feels like we’re still busy every weekend with wedding stuff, hopefully we’ll have some time to relax soon.
